The Southern Maine Guerilla Drive-In Project is a collectively run effort to bring our community closer together. Much like other guerilla drive in projects across the country, this project is a response to the commodification of our communities. The objective is to resist the industrialization of our community environments by joining together to defeat the expensive and impersonal consumer culture that has begun to dominate our societies and lives. We do so by bringing friends and acquaintances together to talk, have fun, and enjoy drive-in-style movies. In the end it is these personal and community connections that are worth the most. NOTE: We would like to thank the Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In for the inspiration (and logo). The founder of this project used to live in Santa Cruz, and hopes that one day communities across the country will more closely resemble it.

Showings are almost always double features. When we post each showing we will attempt to post it with the duration. Showings are thrown together on an ad-hoc basis until we can settle on a more regular schedule. A more regular schedule will require volunteer participation. If you would like to put together a movie night, or bring food, please join the mailing list and let us know.
